Old Fashion Day

by Walt Deppe – October 23rd, 2012

Morrow Mountain State Park will host its annual Old Fashion Day Festival on Sunday, November 4, from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Exhibits and demonstrations planned include: gold panning, spinning, flintknapping, woodworking, “old fashioned” games, woodcarving, old tools and machines, gem search for children, corn shelling and milling, broom making, and bluegrass music. The Kron House will be open and volunteers will be on hand to provide information about Dr. Kron, a legendary figure in the history of Stanly County. Morrow Mountain State Park is still looking for volunteers to participate in Old Fashion Day. If you have an exhibit or “old fashioned skill” you’d be willing to share with our visitors, please contact park staff at (704) 982-4402.
